Hello friends,
I’ve been busy with work and school lately and I’ve been thinking a lot about the future. I’m considering my options when it comes to moving out – and have been actively looking at apartments for the past few weeks – although it will still be a little while before I properly move out as I want my degree first. Work has been going great and I am excited to see what next year brings me as I’m feeling more and more confident in front of the classroom as well as with all my other tasks as a teacher. That leaves my private life.
I have a very weird way of doing things. I tend to segment my time off a lot and plan for the things I want to do with it. I don’t think the way I do this is particularly healthy, but if I don’t do this I get bored and restless due to not properly planning my “me time”. To give you a little bit of an example, I want to get my writing done every day – that’s around 1300 words right now – and I want to read at least 2 books a month. I want to do certain daily activities in the MMO I’m playing and I want to work through my gaming backlog. I enjoy doing all of these things, but I need to plan for them and stick to a schedule or otherwise I don’t always get to do all of these things. This can get tiresome.
So I’ll be working on these habits of mine a bit and I am trying to figure out how to do things from here on out. That means that I’ll be changing up some of my habits and I want to start with the writing word count. For the month of June I want to focus much more on quality over quantity again. There is a very good chance that after a month I’ll be going back to my old system, but I want to see how I’ll like a less pressured way of writing. I have been chasing word counts for quite a while now and it’s done me well in the past. So the schedule for the month of June will look quite a bit different. For starters, I’m taking the entire next week off. There will not be any posts. After that first week off – so starting on Monday June 9th – the schedule will shrink from three posts a week down to two posts a week. One Piece Wednesdays will disappear although some of the Monday content will definitely still be about One Piece. I enjoy blogging a lot and sticking to a schedule has made me plan a lot more, be creative in what sort of things I write about and broaden my horizons. It’s also taken a lot of time. Time that gets taken away from other projects that are more important to me. So I’m slowing down the blog posts in favor of giving myself more time to work on my stories. I’m building a sprawling world filled with lore and history for The Necromancer’s Daughter and I’m continuing the Hesitant Hero as planned. I will just take things slow for a little while.
If you don’t want to read about me being a boring person, your eyes will probably go to this part of the post where I’ll leave you with the schedule for June:
- Monday June 9th: My five favorite One Piece Islands
- Friday June 13th: The Hesitant Hero Chapter 19
- (Monday June 16th: My top ten anime of all time)
- Friday June 20th: The Hesitant Hero Chapter 20
- (Monday June 23rd: Music Recommendations)
- Friday June 27th: The Hesitant Hero Chapter 21
- (Monday June 30th: Summer Time Update)
