Quick Update

Hey folks, time for an update.

Not so much because it’s time to let you all know how riveting my life has been, but more because I’ve been struggling to keep up with my writing lately. Part of this is because NaNoWriMo is coming up in about a week and I’m working on preparing some ideas for that, but a bigger reason is because I’ve just been very tired.

As you all know – or not, I’m not that interesting after all – I’ve been combining my new job as a teacher with finishing my teaching degree at uni. This means three days of work and 1 day of uni, with a Thursday sandwiched in the middle to stay on top of all my homework and my students homework, so to speak. I’ve been very open about my autism on here and I can tell you that this schedule is too much if I’m being honest. There weren’t many better options though, so I chose this one somewhat knowing what I was getting into, but it does mean I have to cut down on some of the other things I do. After a day like today I don’t have the energy to be creative.

That’s very disappointing sometimes. I like writing and making stories, and it sucks to not feel like you can do it. The dream of living off of writing stories is still very far away but if we’re being more positive, it’s also closer than ever. Both because time is linear and as time passes things in the future come closer, but also because I actually have a draft that’s being finished up that I am somewhat confident in. That’s a first for me. But after still writing a respectable 25.000 words in September, I’m going to maybe get to only 15.000 this month. Not a huge deal, but I still want to try and write 50.000 words in November. One thing that might help with that is the fact that the two weeks after November 3rd are relatively empty compared to the ones before and after. So I should have more time.

Until then though, the amount of posts on here will stay relatively low. I’ll try to stick to at least two posts a week, but don’t be too surprised if all that shows up is the weekly One Piece recap. That one is too fun and relaxing for me to skip and doesn’t take much energy.
I hope this gave you some insight, The Necromancer’s Daughter will still continue, I’m working on the latest chapter and hope to have it ready by the first of November, and The Hesitant Hero will more than likely continue in January. Until then, thanks for reading!
