Genre Unraveled

Early on, not long after the creation of this blog, I wanted to write several essays about different anime/manga genres and the way their stories would either work well or not work well at all. This turned out to be quite the commitment so I would often write these posts and not be satisfied with the quality. Now that we’re in late 2026 I feel confident that I can create this series and turn it into something truly interesting. The goal of this series is to look at stories from many different perspective to find out how to create compelling characters, interesting worlds and captivating stories. Tune in on the last day of each month for a deep dive into a different genre as we figure out together why we enjoy the things we enjoy.
